The Danish Rotating Story:

Speedy

Chapter one.
On a nice, warm summer day not so long ago, a seal came out of the water and onto
the beach. She was looking for a quiet place, because she was about to have a baby
seal. She found a nice place on the beach, and in the white sand, she gave birth to her
first son. She did not know what to call him, but she thought: "I will wait and see
what he is like and then I will give him a name that suits him."
Pretty soon, he was hungry, and she fed him with milk. The milk was very good and
fat, and he soon grew stronger and bigger. The mother seal often had to leave the
little one on the beach, so she could catch some fish for herself. She was worried that
something would happen, and she always hurried back to him.
One day, she stopped in the water because there were some people on the beach. She
knew it was best to stay away from them, but they were getting close to where her
son was. And he was howling! If a baby seal is left alone for too long, he will howl to
call for his mother.
One of the people, a little girl tried to touch the baby seal, but her mother stopped her.
"you must not touch a baby seal. His mother is probably nearby, so we have to go
away". The people left and the mother seal could go back to her baby.
The little seal grew and grew and after only four weeks, he had learned to swim.
One day, when he was trying to catch some fish, he got too far away from his mother.
He was chasing a small fish, when he suddenly heard a very loud noise. It was a
speedboat, but to him, it was like a big monster.
He had heard the noise before, but always from far away. This time it was just above
him, and the sound was so loud that he couldn't think. Instead, he just swam away as
fast as he could.
The monster followed him, and he closed his eyes and swam even faster. Finally the
noise went away, and the little seal could go to the surface to get some air.
His mother had seen him swim very fast and she thought: "He is very fast. I think I
will call him Speedy". And from that day, the little seal was known as "Speedy".
One day, when Speedy was almost ready to be on his own, his mother did not come
back from her fishing trip. Speedy went to look for her, and he swam around to find
her. Suddenly he saw her, and his stomach went ice cold. She was caught in a
fisherrnan's net. Speedy swam to her as fast as he could....
Chapter 2
But the boat where the net was attached onto, was still moving.
Speedy had to swim really fast to catch the boat, but of course that
wasn't a problem for him. But after a while he started to become tired,
the boat just kept on moving... But finally it stood still. Not a moment
too soon for the seal.

Speedy stood looking at his mother and a big tear rolled over his
cheek.
He was very sad seeing his mother in the net, he had to think of a plan
to get her out of it. So he jumped as high as he could to try to get to
his mother. But it was in vain...
Then he tried to bite through the net, but that also didn't work. He told
his mother that she didn't have to worry, that he would get help.
So Speedy went to get his friends to help him, it took a while before
he got there, because the boat was far away from his house. Finally he
got to his friends and they followed him without hesitating, they knew
how importart Speedy's mother was to him.
But when they got back to the place of the boat, the net had
disappeared! He just saw the fishing boat leaving. He quickly chased
after the boat, but his friends were not so fast so they were left behind
powerless.
Speedy managed to jump on the boat. His mother said sadly: `Never
mind, you've done enough for me. You're nearly grown up flow, get
your own life. I'11 never forget you.' But Speedy didn't give up just
like that and he Said: `No mother, never!' Suddenly he saw a fishing
rod and that gave him an idea: he took the rod and tried to loosen the
net with the hook. He didn't succeed so he threw the rod overboard.
It ended up in the motor and the motor exploded. The bits and pieces
flew around and they were sharp enough to make a big hole in the net.
Mother and son jumped in the water together and swam away. But one
of the fiskermen saw this and dove alter them.
The seals are faster than people and the fisherman couldn't catch Speedy and his
mum. The ship dived slowly and Speedy with his friends looked at the ship
hapilly. Speedy was happy, because he was with his mother.
For a short time Speedy celebrated his first birthday.
His mum didn't forget, that he rescued her brave and she took him on the trip.
They swam deep. Suddenly Speedy saw unknown animals in front of him.
"There are dolphins, Speedy," his mother said him. Dont worry, they don't
injure us. Dolphins are very clever. You will go to school with them.
Speedy was very happy and enthusiastic from it. He learnt to read and to write
and he got the first school report too. He found a lot of good friends at school.
His best dolphin's friend named Susan. Susan was very clever and she helped to
Speedy at school very much.
The first day he met with Johny too. Johny was very bad doiphin. He hurt other
animals and when Speedy stood up for them, he became his enemy. It didn't
mind to Speedy, he didn't want to be a friend with this doiphin. One day they set
off on the trip. Susan knew a lot of beautiful places at the sea. She showed him,
that the sea isn't boring how he thought.
Once she showed him a coral reef. Speedy likes this coral reef. He enjoyed his
time there very much, but Johny and his friend discovered them...
They swam to Speedy and Suzy and started to quarrel with them. They called
their names.
Suddenly, a very big white shark appeared in the background. It was coming
Gloser and Gloser. Speedy and his friend screamed loudly so the others swam
away as fast as they could.
But the shark was the faster.
Speedy saw how big trouble Johnny was in so he wanted to help him and his
friend. He bit the shark's tail and it began to chase Speedy instead of Johnny.
During that time Suzy was frightened to death, but she gathered all of her power
and she went for help. Speedy's mother came in a minute and put the shark
away.
Speedy and Johnny were rescued. Johnny was very grateful and he promised
that he will not hurt the others any more. They became good friends.
Speedy and his mum went home and lived happily...

One morning when Speedy woke up, he heard his mother
call "Get up Speedy, you don't want to be late for sea
school". "Okay Mother", Speedy replied. So Speedy
went downstairs. "Good morning Mother" he said.
"Good morning", his mother replied as she placed a plate
of fried fish in front of him. When he finished his
breakfast he swam to school with his friends, Susan and
Johnny. When they got to school, his teacher, Miss Fish
announced to the class that the class were going on a field
trip, to the Big Wide Ocean Park, in two days. Speedy's
heart leaped, he had always wanted to go to the Big Wide
Ocean Park, but is mother would not let him, she said it
was too expensive. Speedy was so excited that when
school was finished, he swam home to tell his mother. He
burst in the door, and said "Mother, my school is taking a
field trip to the Big Wide Ocean Park". "Speedy you
know that I don't like that place and it's too expensive"
said his mother. "But mother, I really want to go" said
Speedy. "Well, when is the trip" she said. "It's on the
18th of June" said Speedy. "That's in two days" said
Speedy's mother. "I know, but I really would like to go"
Speedy said again. Well, "Okay" said Speedy's mother,
"if you do as you're told until then". "Yes! Thank you
mother" said Speedy. For the next two days Speedy was
as good as gold, for his mother, he did all his chores
without complaining, and he was always very polite to his
mother, up until the day of the field trip. When it was
time to go on the Ocean Express (the school bus) his
mother give him some money to buy his lunch and a very
big hug! Speedy sat beside Susan all the way to the Big
Wide Ocean Park. When they arrived, he noticed that an
eel called Elvis was at the back of the line giggling with
his friends Eddie the eel and Douglas the dolphin. I could
hear them saying "I think we should steal some clothes
from the shop" said Douglas, "and some sweets" said
Eddie, "and we will take all the money from the tili" said
Elvis. When Speedy heard this he thought "I will not let
them do this, I will get Johnny and Susan to help me and
we will stop them" ! When Speedy found Johnny and
Susan, he told them all about what Elvis, Eddie and
Douglas were planning to do, and he also said that it was
their job to stop them. "First we will stop Douglas, he is
going to the clothes shop right now" said Speedy. When
they went to the clothes shop they saw Douglas hiding
behind a clothes rail. "Let's hide too, so Douglas will
think that nobody is here" said Susan. So they hid behind
the counter and just as Douglas was about to steal a Tshirt
Johnny jumped on top of him, while Susan firabbed
the T-shirt out of his hand and put it back on the rail, then
Speedy said to Douglas "if you ever do anything like this
again I will tell Miss Fish about what you did today"
Speedy warned. "Now we need to stop Eddie" Johnny
said to Speedy, "he's going to the sweet shop, lers go"
said Speedy. When they got to the sweet shop, they saw
Eddie, who was putting a packet of jellyfish into his
pocket, and before he could take anything else, Susan
grabbed his arm and took the sweets out of his packet and
she said "don't ever take anything that doesn't belong to
you ever again". "Now all we have to is stop Elvis" said
Speedy. "He's going to rob the till. Let's go to the
lobby" said Susan. When they went to the lobby the first
thing they saw was Elvis running out of the park, with a
big bag of money in his hands. "Alter him" shouted
Johnny. They all ran out of the park and started to chase
Elvis. Elvis realised that he was being followed, so he
swam into a very tall sea tower and all they could see was
Elvis going into the tower and giving all the money to a
shark. "What will we do now" asked Susan. "We have to
follow the shark and get the money back" said Speedy
who was desperate to get the money back. The tower was
about 99 feet tall and they were getting scared, but they
knew that they had to get the money back. The tower was
very big and it was also very cold. They could heart an
evil laugh so they swam up to the top of the tower and
they could not believe their eyes when they saw a HUGE
Shark counting the money that Elvis had stolen. "Give us
back the money", Johnny said. "I won't" said the Shark,
"I' m very hungry so I need to eat your Mother and I want
the money to buy clothes and sweets, but I have people to
steal them for me" said the shark. "So Eddie, Douglas
and Elvis steal things for you" said Speedy. "Yes", said
the shark, "Eddie steals sweets for me, Douglas steals
clothes for me and Elvis gets me the money, because if I
do it myself the people will think I will eat them, and I
will be forced to leave the shop" said the shark. Speedy,
Susan and Johnny could not believe what they were
hearing, they thought Eddie, Douglas and Elvis were bad,
but they didn't think they were bad enough to do
something like this. "We need a plan to get the money
back" said Johnny. "I know" said Speedy. "Johnny
sneak out and go and get help, and then I will get the
money back" Speedy whispered. "How will you get the
money back" asked Susan. "Well, when Johnny goes out,
the shark will run after him and when he does I will grab
the money and then we will all escape" said Speedy.
"Okay" said Susan and Johnny together. When Johnny
swam out the door, the shark immediately swam after
him, leaving the money behind and as quick as lightning
Speedy grabbed the money and he and Susan swam out of
the tower. Just then they saw that the shark was still
chasing Johnny so they swam around the corner, just as
the shark was about to catch Johnny, Susan and Speedy
jumped on top of the shark which made him stop
swimming and it gave them all a chance to swim all the
way back to the Big Wide Ocean Centre. When they got
back the school trip had just ended and all the pupils were
getting back on the bus to go back to school. When
Speedy got back to his own house, his mother asked him,
"how was his day" and Speedy said "it was his very last
adventure".
Speedy's Adventure: The Final Chapter
,, Stop fussing mum" said Speedy as his mom fitted
his hat and robe. "Sorry I just want you to look
perfect for your graduation." Today was Speedy's
graduation. His mom brought him to school. He took
his place by Susie and Johnny. " Are you nervous?"
asked Speedy. "Yeah" said Susie. His teacher, Mr
Flipper, went to get the graduation certs, when a
giant net scooped the class up and they were hauled
up to the surface.
"Things hoppen" said the fisherman. " But now live
got you and your friends and I'm going to put you in
the aquarium!" he cackled. They heard a "BAA" from
the box. It was a sheep called Blarney Bubbles.
Blarney kicked the fisherman. "Stop you pile of
fluff!" yelled the fisherman. Down in the sec, mummy
Speedy was in a fuss. "What will I do?" she cried.
"Don't worry" said Susie's mum. "I have a plan!" They
all whispered as the boat chugged away with all the
class inside. The fisherman sold Speedy and his
They arrived at the circus and they were put in a
tank. A boy with a lollipop, named Eamonn, saw how
sad Speedy was. So he gathered his friends and they
opened the tank and they were set free. The
manager was ungry and he sent the fisherman to
recapture them. And he did. "Oh no!" exclaimed
Speedy.
"What will we do?" asked Speedy. Speedy thought
and thought and thought. Then he finally had an idea.
He used Sammy swordfish (another student) to cut
the net and they wriggled free and a sort of rumbling
came from beneath the boat, and suddenly and army
of seals, dolphins and fish Ieapt up and kinded on the
boat deck. They set Speedy free and a great battle
commenced.
The fisherman started the boat. They were getting
near the harbour when a flash of Iightning hit the
fisherman. "Ouch!!" he said. Then a great figure
arose. IT WAS KING NEPTUNE!! He had led an army
to save Speedy and his friends. . Mersoldiers on
seahorses wore silver and gold suits. Jellyfish stung
the fisherman. Then a great blue whale tipped the
boat and the fisherman fell of f and was never seen
again.
They thanked Neptune and set off for the sea.
"Come with us" said Speedy to Blarney." It's the Iuck
of the Irish you came along and saved me, but I
better be getting back to the f lock in Connemara" So
Blarney went home went home and Speedy graduated.
As he swam home, he memorised all those great
adventures he had and he was sure there were some
new ones waiting out there for him.
