Annes Applecake

Annes Applecake

5-6 portions

1 kilo of apples for cooking
100-150 g sugar, depending on taste and type of apple
1-2 teaspoonfulls of vanilla sugar.
2 spoonfuls of water

To put in between the boiled and mashed apples: “Filling”
Mashed macrons / mashed dry pieces of white bread roasted with a little sugar. Raisins, sliced almonds or nuts, dark chocolate in little pieces.

What to do:Cut the apples into quarters and peal the slices and cut into small pieces.Boil them with water and some of the sugar. If you don´t like lumps of apples, mash the apples.Add as much sugar, as you like, and the vanilla sugar.

Cool off the apples.

How to make the cake:
Take a suitable bowl and start with a little bit of “filling”, thenput spoonfuls of mashed apples to cover the filling. Then the next layer of filling – then mashed apples.

Finish with a layer of whipped cream, decorate with macrons/ pieces ofchocolate/almonds/nuts.
(My mother also added teaspoonfulls of pink apple jelly for decoration.)
You might want to have it with sour cream instead - that is the healthy way!!!
Bon appétit !!
