Comenius Day

Comenius Day in Ireland

Friday 18th of September we held our first Comenius Day simultaneously with three of our partners. It was an exceelnt day- so busy and exciting. Having received recipes and games from our four partners- Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark and Hungary we discussed same and selected the appropriate ones for us. As we have no cooking facilities we chose the recipes such as the Banana and chocolate one which was delicious and so easy to prepare!! We played numerous games, wjich we thoroughly enjoyed but the most popular game was "Two men and a Widow"!
We began the day with Hurling which is a traditional Irish game similar to Camogie- followed by the games we got from our partner schools- we had a great time! Then we teasted the scrumptious recipes!

Afet break, Carol Reynolds, from the National Park gave us a talk on the mammals of Ireland and told us if they were found in our Comenoius countries. This was really fascinating as they were real mammals/animals that had been stuffed by a taxidermist- see for yourself!!! We all could touch, feel and stroke the animals- they were so cute!
